My Story

I am Fia, native Swede, living in Rio de Janeiro since 2013 and I have over ten years of experience of teaching languages to all ages. 

A Brazilian love story

I came to Brazil with a background in International Politics, to train capoeira and I fell in love with Brazil, and particularly Rio de Janeiro. I moved to Rio due to a research project I was working on. However, I started working for a language school in Rio in 2013 and there I found my passion for teaching languages and have done it ever since. Since I started with children and teenager classes about 7 years ago, I love my job even more!

Native Swedish Teacher

I love to travel and learn about new countries and cultures. My interest have lead me to study five languages, lived on three continents and in seven countries.

Through my experience with moving to other countries, learning the language and adopting to the culture, I know well what difficulties people face when they move to Sweden. I love to incorporate that in the classes by teaching of everything from Swedish geography, to slang expressions and accents.

Engaging online classes

I love to dance, play capoeira, practice yoga and write. My energy and curiosity are reflected in my language classes, which I make sure are engaging and fun. I believe that study the native language is necessary to settle in to a new country, and doesn’t have to be boring, rather it can be a fun and interesting process.

I note how my students learn more, across the board from children to adults, if the classes are engaging and fun, so I try to keep them that way. Get in touch for more information of our personalized classes for all levels and ages! I look forward to meeting you and study together!

A helping hand to the favela
